A consumer court in India has ordered a salon to pay Rs 20 million in damages for cutting the wrong hair of a model.
The court ruled that the victim's (plaintiff's) hair was so long that it allowed her to get part-time jobs in companies that make hair products, but the salon did not comply with the victim's instructions. They cut their hair, which caused them a lot of damage.
Salon, which is part of a well-known hotel chain in Delhi, has been given the right to appeal against the court's decision. Salon has not yet commented on the ruling.

According to Delhi-based correspondent Niaz Farooqi, the victim had told the court that she had been visiting the salon since 2004. The other day he had to go for an interview in preparation for which he went to the salon where he gave instructions to the staff regarding hair cutting.
She said she wanted to have her hair cut by Aleem Singler, a hairdresser who was a member of the salon staff, but the salon offered to have a haircut from Christine Ho. She refused to cut her hair because she was not satisfied with her work in the past.
The woman told the court that the salon staff, on the other hand, reassured her that Christine's work was much better than before.In the complaint filed in the court, the woman further said that since she was wearing 'high powered' glasses and therefore the hairdresser had asked her to keep her head down constantly, and therefore clearly in the mirror.
