The International Cricket Council has given the hosting of Champions Trophy 2025 to Pakistan.
An update shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board states that Pakistan has hosted the Champions Trophy.It may be recalled that the Pakistan Cricket Board had expressed interest in hosting six different upcoming ICC events. Pakistan, along with Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, had also bid to host the ICC World Cup.
This is the first time since 1996 that Pakistan has had the opportunity to host an ICC event.
According to the ICC's ten-year schedule from 2024 to 2031, Pakistan is the only country to host an event alone.
India has hosted a maximum of three events, one of which will be solo while the other two will be co-hosted by Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.According to the ICC schedule, eight men's white ball cricket events are to be held in 14 different countries.
Reacting to the ICC's announcement, Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Rameez Raja said, "The handing over of this important international event to Pakistan is a sign of the cricket body's full confidence in our ability, competence and management ability.""We have been good hosts in the past and we will show our passion for the game through the ICC Champions Trophy 2025," he said.The 2024 T20 World Cup will be held in the United States and the West Indies.
Pakistan will host the 2025 Champions Trophy.
India and Sri Lanka will host the T20 World Cup in 2026.
The 2027 ODI World Cup will be held in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
The 2028 T20 World Cup will be hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
India will host the 2029 Champions Trophy while the 2030 T20 World Cup will be hosted by England, Ireland and Scotland.
The 2031 ODI World Cup will be hosted by India and Bangladesh.
