The Taliban has asked the European Union for help in running Afghanistan's airports system.
A statement from the European Union (EU) said in a statement that the Taliban had asked for help in running the country's airports, according to AFP.
Top EU and Taliban officials met in the Qatari capital, Doha, on Sunday.

Thomas Nicholson, Special Representative of the European Union for Afghanistan, represented the delegation, which also included officials from the European Commission on Humanitarian Aid, International Partnership and Migration.
The UPA statement added that the Taliban had given full assurances that it would fulfill its promise of a general amnesty to Afghans who had worked against them for the past 20 years.
In talks with the European Union, the Taliban have reiterated that Afghans and foreigners are allowed to leave Afghanistan as they wish.According to the statement, the Taliban and the European Union have expressed deep concern over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Afghanistan, but the European Union has assured that humanitarian assistance will continue.
The European Union (EU) has called on the Taliban to establish a comprehensive government, promote democracy and ensure equal access to education for girls.
The European Union has also called on the Taliban to stop any group from using Afghan territory that could jeopardize the security of others.
The statement said that if the Taliban agreed to the terms of the European Union, more financial assistance could be provided that would directly benefit the Afghan people.
The Taliban have assured that they will abide by human rights in accordance with Islamic principles and have once again expressed their desire for the diplomatic staff to return to Afghanistan.
