Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood's 'King' Shah Rukh Khan, has spoken to his parents for the first time via video call on his mobile phone in Arthur Road Jail 12 days after his arrest in a drug case.
According to the Times of India, the facility was introduced by prison authorities for inmates to communicate with their families and lawyers during the epidemic last year.
"Aryan gave his mother's number, he talked to his mother and father for 10 minutes on a video call," said a senior prison official.
According to the rules, people on trial can talk to their families or lawyers in the presence of a police constable in jail two or three times a month.
On the other hand, Aryan Khan and six other accused arrested in this case have been transferred from the quarantine cell of the jail to the general cell.
The new prisoner is kept in a quarantine cell for three to five days, after which he is transferred to the general cell if his corona test is negative.
