The case of Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, has been withdrawn from Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer Sameer Wankhede. In this case, Sameer Wankhede was accused of accepting a bribe of 80 million Indian rupees.
Six cases were transferred from NCB officer Sameer Wankhede to Delhi unit along with Aryan Khan case.
According to Indian news channel NDTV, a special investigation team headed by senior police officer Sanjay Singh will now investigate six cases, including the Aryan Khan case, which was earlier being looked into by Sameer Wakhire.
These cases are said to be related to famous Bollywood actors.
Sameer Wankhede had requested the court to withdraw the cases from him.
"I have not been removed from the investigation. I had filed a writ petition in the court for a central agency to investigate the matter. So the case of Aryan Khan and Sameer Khan will (now) be looked into by the NCB Delhi's Special Investigation Team.
Indian Minister Nawab Malik had leveled allegations against the NCB in the Aryan Khan case.
After allegations were made by Nawab Malik and Shahid Prabhakar, questions were raised about Sameer Wankhede's past record and how he handled cases.
The NCB had said in support of Sameer Wankhede that his service record was flawless and only reflected the truth and honesty of the officer.
