The first consignment of meat from Pakistan has been delivered to Jordan by a private company.
"We congratulate Tata Foods on exporting the first consignment of meat from Pakistan to Jordan," Razzaq Dawood, trade adviser to Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, wrote in a tweet on Monday.
"The Ministry of Commerce is working to promote unconventional exports to new markets," he wrote.Razzaq Dawood added in his message that "other exporters must also strive for diversification of their products and access to new markets."
Earlier, in the last week of October, three slaughter houses in Pakistan were licensed to export Jordan cattle and an official statement was issued in this regard.
A statement from Pakistan's Ministry of Commerce said Jordan had issued a permit to export the meat to the slaughterhouses.
In this regard, the Ministry of Commerce of Pakistan said, "We are pleased to announce that Jordan has issued an official declaration for the export of goat, sheep and camel meat to three Pakistani slaughterhouses."Adviser to the Prime Minister on Trade Abdul Razzaq Dawood said, "I urge all our exporters to take full advantage of these opportunities in this unconventional meat market."
He added that apart from meat, exporters should also export potatoes, mangoes, canoes, onions and other fruits and vegetables from Pakistan.
