Sydney: A report released after a seven-month investigation in Australia has revealed that widespread cases of sexual harassment have surfaced in the Australian Parliament.
According to the World News Agency, a high-level inquiry into sexual harassment and bullying in the Australian Parliament has stated that a large-scale sexist culture is developing in the Parliament.
The report states that 1,700 interviews with members and staff of the Australian Parliament revealed that one in three members of Parliament had been sexually harassed. The female MP complained that male politicians harass women by kissing their lips, pushing, touching and slapping them.
It should be noted that this inquiry was started in 2019 after the incident of rape of Britney Higgins, a woman working in Parliament inside the office of a minister of the Conservative Liberal Party.
