The Sudanese army plans to reinstate the ousted prime minister.
According to the British news agency Reuters, Fadullah Burma Nasir of the Umayyad party has said that this agreement was reached on Saturday night.
"Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdouk will form an independent cabinet of technocrats," he said. The agreement between the army and the political parties also stipulates that all political prisoners will be released.Fadillah Burma Nasir said he had attended a meeting on Saturday night in which an agreement was reached.
Sources familiar with the talks said the council would hold an emergency meeting on Sunday before announcing the agreement.
The Sudanese prime minister was placed under house arrest after a military coup in October.
The army had dissolved the cabinet and arrested key figures.
According to sources close to Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdouk, after the military coup, he had demanded the release of political prisoners and conditioned a partnership on power for negotiations.
Protests erupted across the country after the military coup, and protesters announced they would continue protesting on Sunday.
Western powers have backed political forces in Sudan, while denouncing the military and cutting off some economic aid to Sudan.
