Car racer Bashari Nasr, who came to Abu Dhabi from Syria, knew she would take part in the car race. She knew that there would be cameras and that the activity would be shown somewhere in the region.
But Bashari Nasr and nine other racers from other countries in the region have learned that they will be part of Netflix's first Arabic-language reality series, The Fastest.
"It was a complete surprise," Nasr told Arab News. I thought maybe we would only take part in one race, but they would come every day and tell us where to go today and we would take part in different races and challenges. They were all unique, something we had never done before. "Bushra Nasr has been in love with car racing for many years. He made his mark in the region's car racers by participating in various competitions. He even won competitions with men who never thought a young woman would overtake him.
Her dream was not only to win the race but she also thought beyond that. She wants to be like Jeremy Clark Sun, the host of 'Top Gear' show.
Because of this reality show, Bashari and his colleagues may be able to achieve their goals. Bashari's focus is not only on herself but she also wants to be a beacon for other young women.
"It was a great experience for us as women," she said. The world will see how passionate women are for car racing and it will inspire young women too.
Competition was fierce in the first season of the reality show The Fastest, but human race competitors were also impressed by his success, including another finalist, Saudi racer Abdulaziz al-Yash."The best part of the show was watching Bashari win," he said. It was important for Saudi racer Abdulaziz Fadhili that the reality show would be shown in 190 countries on the world's largest streaming platform, which would give the world a glimpse of the race in the region.
He borrowed money from his acquaintances to buy a car for the race and his performance on the race track will enable him to repay the money.
The reality show The Fastest features some of the best racers in the region, including Kuwaiti racer Ali Mukhsid. He took part in the race on the condition that his competitors should be the best racers in the region.
The show has six episodes and the first season is hosted by Saudi YouTuber Tariq Al-Harbi who has one million subscribers and 10 million followers on Instagram due to his humorous style."The curious show, created in Arabic for Arab consumers, is nothing short of a dream," he said. You cannot predict who will win. I don't think people will stop watching this show and I'm proud of that. "
The racers who took part in the show said that they have made friends with each other, shared tips with each other, helped in car maintenance and even raced against each other.
"For me, this experience was like gaining knowledge and I would like to be a part of it again," said Saudi racer Abdulaziz. I will be ready with my car and know as much as possible about each racer so that no one can beat me next time.
