At least three people were killed and 15 others were injured during Friday prayers in the Spin Ghar district of Afghanistan's Nangarhar province.
According to the French news agency AFP, Nangarhar province has been a stronghold of the Islamic State militant group since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan in August.
A doctor at a local hospital told AFP that "three people have been killed and 15 injured so far."A local Taliban official confirmed the blast.
He said that the blast took place in Spin Ghar district in which several people were killed and injured.
The militant group ISIS emerged in Afghanistan in 2015, and has recently claimed responsibility for bombings in Afghanistan.
An eyewitness said several people, including the imam of the mosque, were injured in the blast, according to Reuters.
