Pakistan International Airlines has increased its weekly flights to Saudi Arabia in view of the growing number of passengers. With permission from Saudi authorities, PIA has increased its weekly flights from 35 to 45.
A PIA spokesman told Urdu News that "from December 6, it will operate 45 flights a week to Saudi Arabia, up from 35 previously."
The number of flights has been increased after Saudi officials announced that direct passengers from six countries, including Pakistan, would be allowed to enter the country from December 1.Just two days after the announcement, all PIA tickets for Saudi Arabia were sold out by December 12, in which about 9,000 passengers would be flown from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia.
It should be noted that PIA had requested the Saudi authorities to increase the number of flights.
Meanwhile, the rush of passengers going to Saudi Arabia outside the offices of PIA and Saudi Airlines in Islamabad is increasing day by day. Irfan Khan from Jahangira Tehsil of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa told Urdu News that his visa expired on November 30 while he had PIA return ticket but my ticket was due to expiration of visa. Also no longer usable.
Irfan, who is in the PIA Islamabad office, said: "I will be able to go to Saudi Arabia again after the extension, but I will have to buy a new ticket or the same ticket will be adjusted. He came to Islamabad.
"I have been assured by PIA officials that after the extension of my visa, I will be given a ticket without any additional charges," he said.Similarly, Rizwan Ali, who was outside the Saudi Airlines office, also came to get a ticket.
He said that after not getting PIA tickets, he went to the office of Saudi Airlines but now only those people who had booked return tickets from Saudi Arabia are being given tickets.
According to a PIA spokesperson, "the first priority is to adjust the tickets of those who had taken return tickets and could not return to Saudi Arabia due to the ban, after allowing direct entry from Pakistan. Tickets are also being sold to individuals.
The spokesman said that in the first two days, in addition to return tickets, the number of passengers buying new tickets had increased significantly, prompting requests for an increase in flights. Now it is hoped that after more flights the problem will be significantly reduced which will also reduce the ticket prices.
