Indian Test cricket captain Virat Kohli has said that he was informed about his removal from the post of ODI captain just 90 minutes ago.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Virat Kohli resigned as T20 captain following the recent T20 World Cup, and last week the Indian Cricket Board appointed Virat Kohli as the captain of ODI cricket, according to French news agency AFP. Rohit Sharma was given the captaincy.
"I was contacted 90 minutes before the selection meeting on the 8th and there was no contact before then," he said."I was told that five selectors have decided that I will not be the ODI captain," said Virat Kohli.
Virat Kohli's departure from the T20 team was a surprise decision for many cricket fans.
However, Kohli tried to retain the captaincy of the ODI team.
Wart Kohli is still the captain of the Indian Test team and will lead the Indian team in the Test against South Africa, but according to some reports, he has decided to withdraw from the ODI series.
However, Kohli denied the allegations, calling them "lies" and saying "they were and are available for selection."
He said that he was mentally ready to play against South Africa and would play the best possible game for his team.
