Sri Lanka have won the second Test against the West Indies. In this match, two Sri Lankan spinners Ramesh Mendis and Leith Ambodinia took all ten wickets.
According to the AFP news agency, in the first session of the match, West Indies lost two wickets in pursuit of the target of 297 runs, but after lunch one wicket after another fell.
After lunch, West Indies scored only 40 runs and eight of its players were out.The entire West Indies team returned to the pavilion with 132 runs and Sri Lanka won by 164 runs.
Not a single West Indies batsman could score a half-century and only Nikroma Bonner scored a maximum of 44 runs.
Sniper Ramesh Mendis played a key role in shaking the West Indies batting line after lunch by taking three wickets in one over. He took six wickets for 70 runs.
Ramesh Mendis took 18 wickets in this series and caused the most damage to West Indies. This was their fourth Test match.
Sri Lankan coach Mickey Arthur said: "Ramesh Mendis has the advantage of spinning the ball a lot. We focused on their line and length and they worked hard on the attack. I think that's what they're getting paid for. "Ramesh Mendis was declared Player of the Series and Dhanajaya De Silva was declared Man of the Match for scoring 155 runs. Leith Ambodinia also took five wickets.
After this match, Sri Lanka reached the seventh position in the ICC rankings and West Indies reached the eighth position.
