Saudi ports have seen an increase in car imports amid an increase in cargo throughput tonnage during the first quarter of 2022, according to Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) data.
According to the data published by Mawani, in the first three months of the year, the number of cars has increased by 12.85 percent, which includes a total of 2,194,488 cars.
During the first quarter of 2022, the cargo throughput of the country's ports increased by 7.18% to a total of more than 74 million tons.

The number of transshipment containers increased by 5.91% with a total of 1.3 million TEUs, which is higher than the number recorded during the same period last year.
Containers at Saudi ports fell 1.27 percent to a total of 2.5 million as imported cattle fell 57.75 percent to 336,581.
