Washington: Rejecting the American pressure, India has expressed its determination to import cheap oil and fertilizers from Russia and to continue buying in the future.
Spokesman Ned Price admitted that India cannot immediately distance itself from Russia. It will take time. America does not see the world as a "zero-sum game" in which one side's gain equals another's loss.
On the question of India and Russia's joint military exercises and purchase of air defense systems, the spokesperson of the US State Department said that we recognize that every country around the world makes decisions related to its security based on its own interests and values.
Ned Price added that the United States, however, wants to make clear how our shared interests and our shared values often overlap, and how countries around the world can reap the benefits of partnership.
