 It is mandatory for foreign workers to follow Iqama rules in Saudi Arabia. The issuance of residence permits for foreign workers residing in the country is linked to the issuance of work permits.

Work permit is issued by Ministry of Manpower. According to the law, the Ministry of Manpower and Social Welfare issues work permits only to foreign workers whose profession does not fall under the category of Saudization.

If the sponsor does not have work, the worker can work elsewhere with the formal permission of his sponsor, but for this it is necessary to register in the 'Ajir' system.

Under the Ajir system, the worker is eligible to work temporarily with another organization or sponsor for a limited period. For registration in the Ajir system, the temporary contract is prepared by the sponsor of the worker, which is done digitally.

Hrub, meaning running away from the sponsor, is considered a serious crime under the Ministry of Manpower, formerly known as the Ministry of Labor and Manpower.

Workers who abscond from their sponsors and are categorized as fugitives in the justification system are seised.

According to the Ministry of Manpower Act, any worker whose residence permit has expired or who has gone out of the country on an exit visa cannot be filed.

In case of expiry of Iqama, Harob cannot be applied until Iqama is renewed. Sponsor can cancel within 15 days of placement through their Absher account.

After the expiry of the prescribed period, it becomes quite difficult for which it is necessary to apply to the concerned agency of the Ministry of Manpower to prove that the application has been wrongly filed to be cancelled.

It should be noted that such foreign workers who have left the country on leave i.e. exodus can not be filed against them.

In order to file Harob against the worker, the documents must be completed, including the presence of the worker in the country and the validity of the second iqama.

Remember, under Saudi immigration laws, the sponsor is also responsible for renewing the worker's iqama, in this regard, the sponsor is responsible for paying the entire iqama renewal fee, not the worker.
