Dubai International Airport will serve 118 million passengers by 2023.
According to Emirates News Agency, Dubai International Airport was inaugurated on September 30, 1960. A Middle East Airlines plane took off for the first time.
On this occasion, 3,000 people reached the airport in cars and buses. People also came on horses and camels to attend the inauguration ceremony.
After 62 years, Dubai Airport has made its unique identity across the world. In 2018, the number of passengers traveling through the airport reached one billion.

Dubai started its growth journey from a small airport and over the decades has now become a world leader in terms of tourism, trade, funding and aviation.
In 1960, the number of passengers traveling through Dubai International Airport was 315,000, while in 1970, the number of passengers had increased to more than 524,000.
Dubai International Airport joined the club of major airports for the first time in history in 1997. It was ranked sixth among the ten fastest growing airports in the world. The airport recorded a growth rate of 14 percent which was higher than the growth rate of major airports in Asia and Europe.
In 2014, it was the world's busiest airport with 70.4 million passengers.
Dubai Airport currently handles 90 million passengers per year. By 223, more than 118 million people will have access to travel facilities.
Dubai Airport is also one of the largest air cargo centers in the world. From 1970 to September 2020, it has shipped more than 40.8 million tons of cargo.
Emirates began operations on 25 October 1985 with just two aircraft. Initially, flights to Karachi were started by getting Boeing 737 and Airbus B4300 on rent.
