 The Saudi Public Prosecution has warned that the punishment for cybercrime to steal someone's wealth is a fine of up to 2 million riyals.

According to Urgent News, the Public Prosecution has drawn attention on Twitter that the punishment for committing cybercrime through modern technology to steal the wealth of others is up to 3 years imprisonment and a fine of up to 2 million Riyals.

The Public Prosecution said that any person who procures for himself or another person any immovable property or title paper or signature thereon and commits an information crime for that purpose shall do so by deception or using a false name. Whoever commits such a crime by doing or playing the role of an accomplice will have to suffer the punishment for it.

All tools or programs or means used to commit the crime and gain wealth through it will be confiscated.

The Public Prosecution has pointed out that it is important to sensitize the public to the fact that all the tricks and fictitious methods being used to gain possession of one's wealth through the misuse of a fictitious name and position are to be avoided. People should be aware so that they can be protected from the activities of criminal elements and the harm caused by them.
