A senior official in Washington said on Tuesday that the United States was aware of Iran's progress towards acquiring nuclear weapons.
According to Arab News, the official expects talks to resume soon to halt Tehran's nuclear program.

Former President Trump's deal has paralyzed the Iranian economy.

Other sources make it clear that there are indications from Iran that it is preparing to return to the Vienna talks, but it remains to be seen whether Iran will be ready for the talks again.
The official said that despite the skepticism in the Gulf states and Israel, the Biden administration believes the diplomatic route is the best.
However, the official also said that the White House and the new Israeli government agree that Iran has made rapid progress since Trump decided to withdraw from the 2015 agreement and reinstate sanctions.
"We estimate that Iran's nuclear program has broken out in a somewhat dramatic manner," the official added.This breakout time, which includes enrichment of enriched uranium and other ways to test it, has been reduced from about 12 months to a few months, which can obviously be quite dangerous.
The official said the United States believed that diplomacy would be an effective means of curbing Iran's nuclear program and rolling back Iran's nuclear achievements in recent years.
"There is no progress in lifting US sanctions and there are other ways if diplomacy fails, but we think that responsibility is still on Iran," he added.
