The Kuwaiti government is considering granting immunity to foreign investors and traders.
According to the local newspaper Al-Qabas, residences of five to 15 years will be issued to foreign investors and traders.Sources said that by taking steps similar to those of neighboring countries, incentives would be given to foreign investors.
Sources said that "foreigners serving the country's economy and serving will be exempted from the sponsorship ban."
"This facility will benefit investors abroad who want to bring their capital to Kuwait or those who are already in the country and doing business."
"The government will provide residency to such people for up to 15 years under its auspices."
Sources said that serious efforts are being made to end the existing sponsorship system in the country. Foreign investors will be excluded from the residency department if they are exempted from the sponsorship ban.
