The murder of an elderly parent by his son in the Egyptian coastal city of Alexandria has shaken the entire country. Police are searching for the fugitive.
According to Emirates Al-Youm, the director of the Alexandria Security Force, Major General Mahmoud Abu Umra, said that a report had been lodged at the police station that the body of an old man and his wife had been found lying in his flat. A 40-year-old son is accused of killing his parents.
According to the Egyptian police, the daughter of the slain parents said that her sister-in-law had called and said that there was some disagreement with her own mother-in-law.
Eyewitnesses say they saw the 40-year-old son of the slain parents leaving the house in the morning. The wind was blowing on his face.
It is learned that around one o'clock in the afternoon, seeing the bodies of his grandparents, his grandson came out on the road and started asking for help from passersby.
Eyewitnesses say that the son accused of murder was always traveling while his wife was staying with his parents and they used to quarrel every day. Eventually, she started living apart.
The son had returned from abroad four months ago and used to quarrel daily with his parents over the property, claiming that the flat belonged to him.
Police are investigating the incident and have collected all the evidence.
