The vacuum train, developed jointly by Arab governments and businesses under the US transport company Virgin Hyperloop, is nearing completion, making it not only the first train of its kind in the Middle East but also the first to connect the Gulf states. The rail network will begin.
According to Arab News, this vacuum train developed by Virgin Hyperloop will transport passengers from one place to another at a speed of one thousand kilometers per hour.
Josh Gegel, head and co-founder of Virgin Hyperloop, says Abu Dhabi can be reached in 48 minutes via a rail network starting from the Saudi capital, Riyadh.He said it would be possible to travel on the train to Dubai, from there to Kuwait, Jeddah and New York.
"We will be able to travel to all these areas and reach any place in the whole region from Riyadh in less than an hour or two."
Sultan Ahmed bin Saleem, chairman of Hyperloop, says the first commercial train is expected to run in India or Saudi Arabia before the end of this decade.
Regardless of which country the train will run on first, Saudi Arabia has become an attractive destination for investment due to development projects launched under Vision 2030.
