The traffic police said that in order to issue a heavy vehicle driving license to foreigners, two conditions must be fulfilled.
According to the emergency website, a foreigner from the Saudi traffic department had inquired whether he could get a heavy vehicle driving license or not.The Department of Traffic responded on Twitter, saying that foreigners are allowed to obtain heavy vehicle driving and commercial driving licenses, but that certain conditions must be met.
Mentioning the basic condition, it was said that "the license must be relevant to the profession and the ID (residency) must be effective".
It should be noted that commercial and heavy duty driving licenses are issued only to foreigners residing in the country as drivers.
Individuals residing in family drivers or other occupations are not permitted to issue commercial or heavy duty driving licenses.
